PrestaShop 8.2 & 9 module · GLS shipping and WebLabeling

Ship with GLS.
Know the cost.
Control the margin.

AstraGLS brings the GLS operational workflow into the PrestaShop back office: it prepares WebLabeling files, separates domestic and EU shipments, estimates shipping cost and compares it with the amount paid by the customer. Fewer manual steps, more control before shipping.

How it works · v0.4.16

From your order.
To a GLS-ready file.

AstraGLS reads the data already stored in PrestaShop, validates the order, calculates the shipment estimate and generates the file to import into GLS WebLabeling.

* The displayed GLS cost is an estimate. The default national rates currently included in the module are based on the GLS Italy indicative price list updated in May 2026 and can be changed from the back office. GLS may apply different contractual conditions or adjustments.
For now, the calculation uses only the actual order weight: volumetric weight is intentionally disabled. Domestic and EU Parcel Europe orders are exported in separate files and are never mixed in the same export.

A better workflow

You used to prepare the shipment.
Now you control it.

✗ Without AstraGLS
📝 Order data manually transferred into the GLS workflow
🧮 Shipping costs difficult to verify order by order
📦 Weight, surcharges and shipping cost reconstructed manually outside PrestaShop
💸 You do not immediately know whether shipping has a margin or is eroding revenue
🔁 Risk of exporting the same order twice or losing tracking data between systems
✓ With AstraGLS
🚚 Generate the GLS WebLabeling file directly from PrestaShop orders
💶 See net cost, VAT-inclusive cost, amount paid by the customer and estimated margin
⚖️ The module uses the actual order weight, without relying on volumetric data that is not yet considered reliable
🛡️ Previously exported orders are protected against accidental re-export
🔎 Re-import GLS tracking and match it back to the order using the BDA reference

What really matters

Not just an export.
Control over your shipments.

AstraGLS is designed to reduce manual work and, above all, to make visible before shipment the data that usually remains split between PrestaShop, price lists and WebLabeling.

Speed

Orders ready for WebLabeling

Select valid orders and generate the fixed-length GLS file without retyping addresses, references, weights or shipping data.

Margin

Know what shipping costs you

For each order, compare the estimated GLS cost with the shipping amount paid by the customer and immediately see the margin.

Control

A reliable calculation basis

The estimate uses the actual weight recorded on the order. Volumetric weight remains disabled until product-dimension retrieval is made reliable.

Control

Domestic and EU shipments separated

National and EU Parcel Europe shipments are recognised and automatically split into separate exports.

Safety

Fewer operational errors

Checks on address, postcode, province, weight and destination block non-exportable orders before they enter the GLS file.

Continuity

Tracking returns to PrestaShop

Import the GLS Bolle file, match the shipment number to the order reference and optionally update the order status.

The calculation engine

Eestimateted cost and surcharges,
order by order.

EXTRA

A transparent estimate, not a mystery number.

The module shows the cost components and lets you edit national rates and the main surcharges from the back office. The default national values currently included in the module are based on the GLS Italy indicative price list of May 2026.

The result is displayed alongside the amount paid by the customer, so you can immediately assess the economics of the order.

◆Configurable national rates: 0–2, 2–5, 5–10, 10–15, 15–20, 20–25, 25–50 and 50–100 kg
◆Configurable VAT, default value 22%
◆Sicily/Sardinia surcharge default €4 VAT included and configurable
◆Configurable reference values also for minor islands (€9), outside provincial capitals (€3), invoicing (€3) and Safe Plus (€4)
◆Estimated margin compared with the shipping amount paid by the customer
◆Clear indication that the cost remains an estimate subject to GLS adjustments

Preset bands: 0–2 €15, 2–5 €17, 5–10 €17, 10–15 €23, 15–20 €23, 20–25 €23, 25–50 €33, 50–100 €46. VAT included and editable.

Configurable price list

Actual order weight

The cost estimate uses the actual order weight. Volumetric calculation is disabled in the current version to avoid results based on unreliable dimensions.

Actual weight

Validation before export

Checks required data and supported destinations; for Parcel Europe it also flags shipment weights over 42 kg.

Pre-check

Duplicate protection

Previously exported orders remain visible but cannot be selected again by default.

No double export

Import tracking GLS

Reads the Bolle file exported by WebLabeling, extracts the shipment number and matches it to the order using the BDA reference.

Tracking

Export and import history

Keeps a history of generated files and tracking imports with counts, results and download availability.

History

Configurable national rates

From the back office you can edit national weight bands and the default GLS May 2026 values, as well as surcharges and operational options.

Frequently asked questions

AstraGLS in practice.

What exactly does AstraGLS do?▼
It prepares GLS WebLabeling import files directly from PrestaShop, estimates shipping costs, checks shipping margin and brings GLS tracking numbers back into PrestaShop.
Does it handle both Italian and European shipments?▼
Yes. The module distinguishes national and supported EU Parcel Europe shipments and generates separate files. Unsupported destinations are flagged and not exported.
Does the displayed cost always match the GLS invoice?▼
No. It is an estimate based on the rates configured in the module. The default national values currently included in the module are based on the GLS Italy indicative price list of May 2026, but GLS may apply different contractual conditions or adjustments.
How is shipment weight calculated?▼
AstraGLS uses the actual order weight. Volumetric calculation is intentionally disabled in the current version and will only be re-enabled when product-dimension retrieval is reliable.
Does it manage fuel surcharge, FlexDelivery, remote-area postcodes and COD?▼
Yes. National rates, fuel surcharge, FlexDelivery, supported surcharges, peak season, handling and COD are configurable through their respective options. For the Italian national tariff profile, Sicily and Sardinia also use the configurable surcharge based on the May 2026 price list.
Can it prevent the same order from being exported twice?▼
Yes. By default, previously exported orders remain visible but cannot be selected again. Re-export can be explicitly enabled.
Can GLS tracking be written back to the order automatically?▼
The module imports the GLS WebLabeling Bolle file, reads the shipment number and matches it to the order through the BDA reference. It can also change the order status and, when configured, send an email to the customer.
Which PrestaShop versions are supported?▼
The module package declares compatibility with PrestaShop 8.x and 9.x.
